I want to help with…

Gardening

A warm welcome awaits you, regardless of your knowledge or experience.

‘…working with other volunteers, I soon learned the true meaning of Civic Pride…it’s not your level of knowledge or experience, it’s simply making the community a better place to live.’

CPR Volunteer.

We have regular working parties in Rawtenstall, Crawshawbooth and Waterfoot. Have a look at our What’s On section for details or simply contact us.

Litter Picking

‘I hate litter, it’s a blight on society.  We make such a difference to the area, it’s great being part of such an enthusiastic team!’

CPR Volunteer

Most litter picking is done by our Lone Rangers who go out at a time and to an area that suits them. We supply the kit, you supply the time! Click below or simply contact us.

Wild Areas

The first job was to clear the invasive, non-native Himalayan Balsam.

‘New native plants are appearing, one of the group thinks it may be Devils Bit Scabious.  Wonderful.’

CPR Volunteer

Started in 2019 we now have a weekly session in Rawtenstall Cemetery so if you’d like to join us, simply contact us.

Paved Areas

‘Weeds on paved surfaces look as unsightly as litter but a few of us working together makes such a difference.’

CPR Volunteer

Clearing car parks and footpaths of weeds can be done by yourself or as a group. Our Litter Officer will be pleased to discuss it with you.

Taster sessions

We’ll soon be starting taster sessions which will have one or at most two established volunteers but everyone else will be a first timer!  It may be working on a garden, clearing a wild area or picking litter. Regardless, you’ll be on your way to becoming a valued volunteer, making new friends and doing your bit towards transforming Rossendale.
