The RHS 'Britain in Bloom' Awards
Civic Pride Rossendale are pleased to announce that whilst we didn’t enter the town in the Britain in Bloom Northwest competition in 2025, we did enter several of our gardens in the Its Your Neighbourhood section of this annual event. Out of the five gardens entered, four achieved the highest award of level 5 together with one level four.
In the Pocket Park entry Sparow Park (Library Gardens) once again achieved the highest award of GOLD whilst retaining the prestigious Green Flag status, which is reviewed annually.
A huge congratulations to all our volunteers involved and who together with our partners at Rossendale borough Council are already preparing for our entries this year, which we are pleased to announce, will include Rawtenstall being entered in the Britain in Bloom NW category.

The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service
In 2017 we were honoured to receive the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, recognising the incredible results that our team have achieved over the years. The highest award a UK voluntary group can achieve, it is the MBE for organisations like ours. The QAVS logo sits proudly alongside our own.

Recognising Civic Pride
Whilst we are grateful for official recognition for our efforts, we derive immense satisfaction from personal messages of support; as we work, those posted on Facebook and Instagram, letters to the Rossendale Free Press and the sheer look of delight as people walk or drive through our town! Hot drinks, packets of biscuits even cans of beer are rarely refused! Thank you everyone.
