Soggy Evening’s Greetings CP Folk!
Straight down to business with no daft intro? Must be bad this week, then ….
Mon 10th June Ok we know that was today but just gotta say thanks to a great CPR team for this morning’s session : approx 56,000 ghastly Himalayan Balsam plants uprooted assisted by two RBC lads plus RBC Councillors Serridge and Marriot. Lots still to do, so a repeat on 24th June 10am at the cemetery. Gettit in t’ diary please!
Tues 11th June 7pm big session on the inbound layby with the Explorer Scouts ; fence painting, balsam bashing, bug hotel building – just too much! (NB there’s also an afternoon session at a mystery venue. No help needed but will you spot the results??)
Weds 12th 9.30am meet at The Whitaker depot (next to the museum) for putting the summer flower baskets in place round town. This is a big job so cars, vehicles and (just possibly??) waterproof gear if the weather forecast’s got it right!
Weds 12th 6.30pm another of our Weds evening summer sessions, this time based on The Embankment opposite Asda.
Thurs 13th 10am The Embankment opposite Asda. Dead-heading, trimming, removing weedproof membrane, lots of planting, adding a bark chip mulch – something, in fact, for everyone we reckon. Will Colin The Dog get fed as well? (what IS he on about?? Be there and discover …)
Thurs 13th 6.30pm Rawtenstall Community Partnership at Crawshawbooth Community Centre. This is open to any of our volunteers.
Fri 14th Buffer Stops 8pm onwards. I’m away on grandad duty so it’s a good time to go along wouldn’t you think?
Saturday or Sunday – if the Weds morning session (eh? what? – oh right, that thing I’ve just read ….) doesn’t complete the task there’ll be a Supplementary Witter (sorry, yes, again!) to arrange to finish the job. Stand by your laptops. Or phones. Or other weird device. Because more info could be on its way on Thurs morning.
Mon 17th June 9.30am Trickett’s Memorial Ground – renovations continue.
No mention of all the countless hours which CPR’s Secret Gardeners and Lone Rangers put in – but SG’s and LR’s, do please let us know what you’re up to (see below – as usual!).
