The first few weeks of the lockdown have also brought beautiful weather and it’s given us all the chance to get outside. Those of us who are lucky enough to have a bit of garden have probably done more in the last few weeks that they have in a long time. I know I have but then that’s not difficult as I’m hardly green fingered! To clarify, our garden is very much the domain of the lady of the house!
Sitting out on a summers day, listening to the birds, watching bumble bees move between the flowers and hover flies hanging like miniature kestrels before disappearing to who knows where, reminds me that we are only a part of nature ourselves.
Perhaps we need to recognise that as we attempt to turn the natural world to our advantage. Nature always reclaims what is its own, sometimes in the most unexpected ways.
