When I am old I will wear purple and…

When we bought the house in 1972 it had no garden. We didn’t even own the land! The ground was derelict, full of brambles, weeds, stones and goodness knows what else.  In 1976, having to resign from work as I was pregnant  – different times now – I began to make an area for our kids to play.

Since then it has been home to dens, bonfires, rope swings, and host to many friends and family.

Now it is ours – it has changed many times over the years to accommodate out growing family’s needs but now they have their own gardens – so it is ours and the birds and squirrels that frequent it. It’s a haven of peace – as no one knows we are here.  We love it.  Lovely place to have a glass or two of wine – as the sunshines!

Of course we painted the bench – unfortunately during lockdown it was the only colour we could get! (a likely story. Ed.)
