Determined to raise cash for some much needed hanging baskets for the Jubilee Gardens in Waterfoot, one (slightly insane) volunteer decided to do a sponsored ltterpick from dawn to dusk!
Remember please that this was January 19th and so the day started with a frosty reception from mother nature and at times included breaking the ice to get at the litter! Most of the litter came from around the village centre but there were compensations like this stunning scarlet elf cup fungus, spoiled only by the empty can of lager but hey ho! In total this wonderful lady collected 15 heavy bags but the village just looks sooooooooooo much better for it! It’s too early to say how much sponsorship money has been raised but we’re confident that we can buy the baskets!
