About Civic Pride
A founder member and local business women Jan Shutt, (CEO of Award Winning Sunday Best in Rawtenstall), was appalled by the litter around the town centre which was seen by customers traveling from far a field and did not think this gave a very good impression of the town.
Given the beauty of the local area Jan put a story in the local paper requesting volunteers to join her and called a meeting with Rossendale Borough Council requesting that they should go into partnership with the volunteers and so in 2000 Civic Pride was born to create a greener, cleaner, safer valley...
Since then Civic Pride has gone from strength to strength but Jan still turns out to get down and dirty!
Help Us Out...
If you want to turn up to help us we go out every Wednesday evening from March to October to litter-pick. On the 1st Sunday in every month we do a BIG project. But, no worries – we DON’T expect you to turn out on every session and we DON’T expect you to stay for the whole session – WHATEVER TIME YOU CAN GIVE IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!
